Commissioned for Bristol Museum & Art Gallery’s ‘Museum at Night’ event, Lea Anderson’s ‘Trying It On’ is a performed exhibition featuring a selection of costumes from The Cholmondeleys and The Featherstonehaughs’ archives.
Performed by six dancers with a sound track by Steve Blake and costumes by Academy award winning Sandy Powell, Emma Fryer and Simon Vincenzi, ‘Trying It On’ looks at class and gender through the inimitable eye of one of the UK’s leading, iconoclastic choreographers.
Drawing audiences of over 1000, ‘Trying It On’ was Bristol Museums’ most successful Museums at Night event to date.

“Loved it! Amazing dancers, amazing clothes and the choreography was superb. I loved the intricacy, complexity and extravagance of it. I just wish I could having stayed on to see it twice. Made me glad to be alive.”
